When the co-founder of BURGER KING, James W. McLamore got sick, his family member, Burger king corporation, and Burger king franchisees all together created BURGER KING McLamore Foundation Scholars Program.

BURGER KING McLamore Foundation Scholars Program was launched in 2005 as the charitable arm of Burger King. It aims to promote academic success in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico and to financially support their employees, employees’ spouses or domestic partners, employees’ children, and high school seniors. The program offers outstanding students scholarships that will help them pursue their undergraduate studies.

Every year the foundation offers about $3.7 million scholarships to more than 3,000 candidates. So far, the program has awarded more than $44 million in scholarships to more than 33,000 deserving students.

Integrity, entrepreneurial spirit, good citizenship, high standards, and education are the values that represent the core of the foundation and are the same values that defined the co-founder of Burger king James W. McLamore, and now the Foundation will continue to build on his legacy and commitment to education.
